Be coached - Ask, Learn, Adapt

Training at a CrossFit box allows you to workout out under the guidance of a professional coach who analyses and adapts techniques and movements for you to reach your full potential safely. You have access to programming that will efficiently and effectively guide you closer to any fitness goal you may have. You have quality equipment available to ensure comfort and safety when training. You train alongside a community of likeminded friends to take on the daily challenges, and keep each other motivated and inspired. 

These things are great! But to really make the most of your time and money spent at your CrossFit box, you must learn how to be coached: There’s a difference between coming to the box and simply following instructions, and thinking critically about what exactly is the purpose and intent behind each session, movement or series of workouts.

So to really make the most of your CrossFit experience, be a student, ask questions, think about what we’re doing and why, and challenge your coach. Coaching is a two-way street: the more information and feedback you share with your coach, the more accurately they can help and guide you.

As coaches we not only provide you a service to guide you through class for 60 minutes. During these 60 minutes, we strive to help you develop your skills, knowledge, understanding, and ability to take care of your own fitness not only in-, but also outside the box! 

So if you learn to be coached, embracing the full service offered to you by your CrossFit box, you can take home that knowledge and apply it outside of the box! You will start being able to effectively put together well thought out training sessions, to adapt movements and stimuli to whatever equipment (or lack of) you have available, and you will be able to analyse your own performance. So use your opportunity to learn the methods, the intentions and structures within CrossFit classes, as it will help you to be independent and to raise your fitness to the next level!

Don’t just blindly follow instructions. Be coached!
